The Stars (Are out tonight)

Charlottetown to West Point
We reluctantly left the fabulous Charlottetown and headed west to our final stop over.
Route 2 took us most of the way before hitting the designated lighthouse trail, Route 12, that takes in Northport and Alberton. We hugged the coast to the northern most point of PEI before heading back down the West Cape to our final Canadian destination of West Point.

In Northport, the Northport Range Rear Lighthouse is easy to find just off the highway adjacent to a community centre.

The Northport Range Former Lighthouse - Now a fabulous looking home, is in a much more dramatic setting. Driving to the end of Carol street in Alberton and then a short but lovely walk along the beach you can't miss the imposing former lighthouse.
And what views it has!
It looks out directly across to Cascumpeque Sandy Island, complete with its own picturesque lighthouse.

Cascumpeque Lighthouse on Cascumpeque Sandy Island opposite the entrance to Northport Harbour island - It's only accessible by boat but is stunningly beautiful.

At the northern-most point of PEI is the North Cape Lighthouse. There is a great headland to explore and walk around. It's also the site of a wind farm museum.
We ate a great lunch at the Wind and Reef restaurant which is part of the development and it boasts fantastic views of the lighthouse.

Howards Cove Lighthouse is a cute a little thing on a hill overlooking the small but very busy working harbour of Howards Cove. But it was probably overshadowed by our eagerness to get to the next one, the lighthouse that started this whole journey off!

We arrived at West Point Lighthouse with plenty of time to explore the grounds and take a walk on the beach.
We were staying in the lighthouse for our last night in Canada after 3 weeks of wonderful exploring.
I've previously written about our fabulous stay at West Point here, but here's a few more photos anyway.
And there were still plenty more lighthouses to bag on our final day driving back to the way back to the airport!
