Victoria

Prince Edward Island
After a lovely morning taking in the friendly delights of Charlottetown we set out on the first of several lighthouse excursions around PEI. We headed west on the Trans-Canada Highway towards the town of Victoria-by-the-Sea. The small harbour town was as pretty as the name suggested.
The weather was fantastic as we approached Victoria and we spotted Leards Range Rear Lighthouse just off the main road down a dusty orange track.

Driving five minutes further we came across Leards Range Front Lighthouse or Victoria Lighthouse. A very picturesque setting, Victoria comprises of a small harbour, complete with Pier and lobster Pub and some local antique and craft shops. The  tower was closed when we were there so we missed checking out the unique two lights in the lantern room.

Heading slightly further west along the cost we found the pairing of the  Wrights Range Front and Rear Lighthouses. There is a road to the beach which runs alongside the private property the Rear Lighthouse is located on, so you can grab a photo. The Front Range lighthouse was visible from the beach but pretty inaccessible given our timescales.

Wrights Range Front Lighthouse. A tiny thing we could see, but not get that close to from the beach .
But as we headed back towards Charlottetown there were a few more spectacular lights we could get a bit closer to........
