Indian Summer

Prince Edward Island
After a night in West Point Lighthouse Keeper's quarters you can't help but wake feeling relaxed and content. Thanks in all to the wonderful soothing nature of our surroundings.
Is there a more relaxing sound than the the sea outside your window?
We certainly weren't disturbed by any ghosts despite West Point Lighthouse being in the top ten most haunted places in Canada!
We had a very pleasant continental breakfast at the lighthouse, a last walk along the beach, then reluctantly set off from our favourite lighthouse of the trip for one last burst of bagging before the plane journey home.

The first lighthouse on our way to Halifax was at Cape Egmont. The lighthouse is at the end of a short dirt track just off Route 11, which in itself is a nice scenic drive along the western coastline of PEI.

Continuing along the coast to Summerside you'll find a few lighthouses all near each other.
The Summerside Outer Range Rear Lighthouse is set back from the coastline adjacent to a community centre.

The almost identical Summerside Outer Range Front Lighthouse is just 2 minutes away and sits on a lovely, quiet, boarded sidewalk on the waterfront. From this vantage point you can see the Rear lighthouse, as well as the Indian Head Lighthouse.

The Indian Head Lighthouse is visible from the sea front and accessible at low tide.

Finally in Summerside, the Range Rear Lighthouse can be found hiding amongst normal houses on a pleasant road leading to the sea. I'd like this as my neighbour please.

    1. It wasn't (I may have been thinking of the Manic's one) but that's great song! Love it.
