So it starts to get lighthouse serious as we leave Halifax and begin our coastal tour proper.
We'd planned to squeeze in a lot of lighthouses between Halifax and Yarmouth along Nova Scotia's south shore. But it was a decent drive and we didn't know what we might run into.
As we'd visited Peggy's Cove the previous day we could could skip the Terence Bay peninsula and head straight to the two lighthouses at Medway.
First stop of the day was the Port Medway Lighthouse which is in the grounds of a very nice little park.

A bit more out of the way with the last couple of miles along a gravel track, was the Medway Head Lighthouse. The lovely views are more than worth the 'off-roading'.

Next up along the lighthouse route was Fort Point Lighthouse in Liverpool, which was a beautiful spot for our picnic lunch.

The Seal Island Lighthouse is a museum run by enthusiastic youngsters on summer jobs.
There's plenty to see and you can visit the lamp room and take a walk outside the top of the light.
